According to the observation at (16:00) hrs M.S.T today, the depression over the West central Bay has move to North words and intensified further into a tropical storm. It is centered at about (340) miles East-Southeast of Vishakapatan, India. It is forecast to intensify into a cyclonic storm during next (72)hours.
The dangerous stage of the tropical storm is coded as yellow as it is not moving to wards the Myanmar coast.
Under the influence of the tropical storm, rain or thundershowers are likely to be widespread in off and along Myanmar Coast with likelihood of isolated heavy falls during the next (24) hours commencing this evening.
Occassional squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) m.p.h.
